Weekly Report (Feb 2–8, 2026)

Weekly Market Pulse

For the week of February 2–8, 2026, the market was buzzing with activity. We tracked 70 different products, moving a total of 4,789 units across 4,159 orders. All that shuffling of cardboard resulted in a total item revenue of $546,734.09! While the sheer volume was high, the overall market stayed relatively stable with a median price change of just -0.47% (-0.0047). However, beneath that calm surface, a few sets saw massive supply shifts that are worth your attention.

Top Gainers

The biggest winners this week were dominated by bundles and older Commander favorites, though some of these jumps come with a “small supply” asterisk.

  • Secrets of Strixhaven Codex Bundle: This was our max gainer, surging 21.43% (vwap $137.53 -> $167.01). We’re seeing initial distribution allocations come online here as supply increased by 66.67% (avg qty 9.0 -> 15.0), but keep in mind that since the baseline supply is quite small, these percentage swings can look a little exaggerated.

  • The Lord of the Rings Commander Decks (Set of 4): A 15.94% price increase (VWAP: $283.04 → $328.16) has defied the logic of a restock. This bump occurred precisely as average available supply surged +270% (avg. quantity: 2.9 → 10.6), a classic false signal of temporary scarcity before a major distributor wave hits the market.

  • The Lord of the Rings: Elven Council (Single Deck): Mirroring the set, this deck’s 14.02% climb (VWAP: $62.48 → $71.24) is equally precarious. The jump coincided with the average number of sellers increasing by +309% (avg. sellers: 1.6 → 6.4), acting as the canary in the coal mine for the coming influx of supply.

  • Universes Beyond Fallout Scrappy Survivors: We saw a 10.78% increase (vwap $57.71 -> $63.93). I’m flagging this with low confidence, however, as the data quality flags suggest this is a probable data artifact with low supply coverage.

  • Edge of Eternities Counter Intelligence: This Commander deck saw a 9.46% bump (vwap $26.25 -> $28.73). This is a high-confidence move backed by a major restock signal where the supply of sellers grew +400% (avg sellers 5.1 -> 25.7).

Top Decliners

On the flip side, several recent releases saw their prices cool off as more product hit the shelves.

  • Lorwyn Eclipsed 60 Card Theme Deck Angels: This was the week’s biggest slider, dropping 12.72% (vwap $20.49 -> $17.88). The drop is likely due to a broad restock where average supply quantity grew +226% (avg qty 18.3 -> 59.7).
  • Lorwyn Eclipsed Prerelease Pack: Down 9.02% (vwap $36.16 -> $32.90). This was a high-volume move with 223 units sold this week and a healthy sell-through rate of 1.52.
  • Bloomburrow Play Booster Display: Dipped 8.65% (vwap $146.68 -> $134.00). Interestingly, this happened even as supply tightened, which we will look at in the next section.
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender Jumpstart Booster Display: Fell 8.46% (vwap $94.08 -> $86.13). We saw a significant supply jump of +1293% (avg qty 9.3 -> 129.4), but I’d treat this as a low-confidence supply move due to data artifact flags.

Supply/Velocity Read-Through

The big story this week is the tightening of supply on specific booster displays. When supply drops while demand stays steady, we usually expect price pressure to follow.

We saw a significant supply tightening for Edge of Eternities Play Booster Displays, which dropped 69.96% (avg qty 151.7 -> 45.6). Even more dramatic was the The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Set Booster Display, where supply fell 57.75% (avg qty 10.1 -> 4.3), leading to a very high sell-through rate of 5.83. Finally, Bloomburrow Play Booster Displays saw a supply contraction of 62.7% (avg qty 190.7 -> 71.1).

Conversely, we are seeing low-confidence listing spikes in the Final Fantasy and Avatar sets. For example, the FINAL FANTASY Collector Booster Display showed a supply jump of +1180% (avg qty 7.3 -> 93.3), but because this is flagged as a probable data artifact, I’m not ready to call it a broad market restock just yet.

What to watch next week

Keep a close eye on the Bloomburrow Play Booster Displays. With supply tightening significantly (-62.7% change in average quantity) but the price currently sitting at an 8.65% discount compared to last week, it might be the “buy the dip” opportunity of the moment before the reduced availability forces a correction.

Opinionated Takeaways

  • Don’t be fooled by the LOTR Commander price bump—it’s a sell signal. The current price increase is the classic short-term volatility of an initial restock. A few vendors listing new supply can briefly lift the market average, but this is the calm before the drop. With a confirmed major distributor restock incoming (+270% supply jump), a significant price correction is imminent. If you’re holding these decks, now is the time to sell before the market floods.

  • Bloomburrow & Edge of Eternities: Buy the dip while you can. The recent play booster resupply for these sets has already been absorbed by the market, and supply is now tightening dramatically. With demand holding strong, the current price dips on Bloomburrow (and related products) look like a prime opportunity before scarcity pushes prices back up.

  • Avatar Jumpstart remains a gamble. The massive supply spike this week looks like a data anomaly, not a stable trend. This product is likely best viewed as a “break it for value” option only if you can source it at a deep discount from alternative channels. Don’t chase it at market price.

  • Strixhaven’s Codex Bundle is the early winner to watch. The set isn’t even out, and its special bundle is already seeing explosive movement. Wizards adding two Collector Boosters was a masterstroke for perceived value and re-sellability. This product has all the markings of a long-term home run.

Calculation Notes & Disclaimers

  • Metrics are based on MTGsold internal sales/listing snapshots for the report window only.
  • avg qty = average of end-of-day inventory (latest UTC scrape per day), not a sum of all intraday listings.
  • sell-through = units sold this week / avg qty this week; values above 1 indicate inventory turned over multiple times.
  • Percentage changes are week-over-week versus the prior-week baseline; very small baselines can exaggerate % moves.
  • Listings are marketplace snapshots and may include relists, temporary removals, and scrape gaps, so flagged low-confidence moves should be treated cautiously.
