Added supply forecast to product pages
I just shipped a Supply Forecast card on individual product pages.
Open any product and scroll down to Supply & Pricing. You’ll now see an estimate of days of supply remaining, plus projections for 7, 14, 30, 60, and 90 days that show how the low end of the market might move if current trends hold.
How the forecast works
The model starts with the live TCGPlayer supply ladder and walks through the cheapest inventory first.
To estimate how quickly that inventory clears, it uses a blended sales velocity:
- 40% of the 7-day sales average
- 60% of the 30-day sales average
Recent demand momentum can nudge that velocity up or down. The model then projects how much inventory should remain at each time horizon and where the floor price could move once the cheaper listings get absorbed.
Confidence levels are included so longer-range projections are treated appropriately.
Cleaner supply reads
I also tightened up the supply side of the calculation. Marketplace snapshots are imperfect, and stale listings can make supply jump around more than it should.
The updated logic focuses on listings that still appear active and drops ones that likely disappeared. The result should feel more stable day to day, especially on products where seller inventory does not change much between scrapes.
A note on forecasts
This is meant to help with decisions, not predict the future.
Large relists, distributor inventory hitting the market, or incomplete marketplace coverage can still throw off the projection for a while. You may also see warnings when demand momentum shifts the velocity assumptions or when Mana Pool inventory sits outside the TCGPlayer supply ladder.
If you run into a product where the forecast looks clearly wrong, send it my way. Real market data is the best way to make these models better.
