anyways, I’m rolling out a new weekly data set!

Weekly updates will be available on Monday mornings. We’ll be adding shorter timespans eventually…maybe, curious to see if the noise of daily updates is worth it, sales data is always best in a historical context.

Data format

Quick heads-up about the format: the data comes in JSON Lines (.jsonl) and a compressed version (.jsonl.gz).

JSONL is great for stuff that grows over time. Each line is its own little JSON object, so it’s easy to tell where one record ends and the next begins. You don’t need to load the whole thing at once either; you can just stream it as you go. Pair that with gzip compression and you’re cooking with gas.
