Weekly Report (Aug 10–16, 2026)
Weekly Market Pulse
Revenue rose 9% in a week where every major Hobbit price came down. That’s the release-week math: more sellers, lower prices, more volume. TCGPlayer did $1,409,671 across 7,985 units and 6,418 orders over 77 products, up from $1,293,004 and 7,311 units last week. The Hobbit accounted for $882,272 of that (62.6%), but the non-Hobbit side grew too – $527,399 versus $464,212 a week ago.
Release day drove the spike. Aug 14 did 2,169 units and $437,291 in revenue, nearly double any other day. Volume ran 976-1,225 Mon-Wed, jumped Thursday when the listing gate opened, and held 1,386-1,540 into the weekend. The seller pool jumped from 493 to 551 located sellers – 58 new entrants, most of them individual sellers who couldn’t list until the 14th.
Manapool did $109,389 across 518 units and 409 orders over 37 products, 69.5% of it Hobbit.

Marvel Super Heroes Prerelease Pack leads TCGPlayer gainers, and I wouldn’t read much into it. Seventy units against an 856-unit shelf barely registers.

The Hobbit Gift Bundle keeps climbing on the thinnest shelf in the set. The official release isn’t until September 4 – what’s trading right now is early store allocation, and it’s running out. Units dropped from 115 to 36 this week on a shelf held by about six sellers. The price here is scarcity. I’d expect the September ship date to reset it.

Marvels Spider Man Collector Booster Pack rose on TCGPlayer while supply and sellers both pulled back. Small tape – 34 units – but the direction has been steady and the shelf is thinning.

Secret of Strixhaven Collector Booster Pack kept thinning on TCGPlayer – supply down another 20.53% on 20 units. The April release has been losing shelf for weeks. Small tape, persistent direction.

Marvel Super Heroes Commander Deck Wakanda Forever is up on TCGPlayer, but units halved from 84 to 36 while the price rose. Fewer buyers paid more. That’s a thin pool repricing.

Marvel Super Heroes Collector Booster Display cratered 43.55% of its shelf in one week on TCGPlayer, avg qty 202.4 -> 114.2. No new Collector Booster Box shipments are coming. This is finite supply being consumed, and the price is responding: up 9.22% to $474.91 on the fourth straight week of drain. Meanwhile the standard tiers keep building – Marvel Play Booster broke 1,000 avg qty this week. The gap widened again, fourth straight week, and the premium tier’s runway is getting short.
On Manapool, Phyrexia All Will Be One Set Booster Pack (Manapool) rose $7.33 -> $10.50 (+43.18%) on 4 units – too few to read. The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Draft Booster Pack (Manapool) rose $6.00 -> $7.29 (+21.57%) on 9 units. The Hobbit Gift Bundle (Manapool) rose $170.52 -> $197.61 (+15.89%) on 13 units at a 0.4866 sell-through. Bloomburrow Play Booster Pack (Manapool) rose $5.44 -> $6.21 (+14.17%) on 15 units. FINAL FANTASY Play Booster Pack (Manapool) rose $6.67 -> $7.57 (+13.49%) on 12 units. All Manapool gainers ran on single-digit or low-double-digit units; there’s no size behind any of these moves.

The Hobbit Prerelease Pack leads TCGPlayer decliners, and the size of the drop tracks what happened. Release day opened the listing gate, supply nearly doubled, 61% more sellers showed up, and the price compressed under the flood. 930 units at a 1.4488 sell-through – demand absorbed the entire supply build. Sellers competed the price down, and buyers took every unit.

The Hobbit Scene Box Crack the Plates fell for a third straight week on TCGPlayer. The shelf shrank 22% on sell-through, and sellers grew 15% anyway. It’s now $7 above the $41.99 MSRP. I flagged these two scene boxes as the competition gauge two weeks ago, and the competition hasn’t let up.

The Hobbit Scene Box Treasures of Smaug continued the same slide on TCGPlayer – three weeks running now, same as its set-mate. Sellers grew 23% and the product still turned over 2.1x its shelf while declining. Unlike Crack the Plates, this box doesn’t have a visible MSRP to fall toward, so the floor is less defined. Both scene boxes are doing the same thing: sellers undercut, buyers take the deal, inventory drains, the cycle restarts lower.

Marvel Super Heroes Beginner Box drifted lower on TCGPlayer on 38 units against a 256-unit shelf. No story here – just a slow-moving entry product finding its level.
On Manapool, The Hobbit Play Booster Pack (Manapool) fell $10.89 -> $6.51 (-40.22%) on 18 units as supply flooded +340.30% – the pack price cratered when release-week listings hit. The Hobbit Prerelease Pack (Manapool) fell $55.99 -> $48.72 (-12.98%) on 19 units with supply nearly 5x last week’s. The Hobbit Bundle (Manapool) fell $78.02 -> $73.36 (-5.97%) on 30 units. FINAL FANTASY Play Booster Display (Manapool) fell $237.54 -> $223.78 (-5.79%) on 8 units. Marvel Super Heroes Commander Deck Doom Prevails (Manapool) fell $73.99 -> $69.83 (-5.62%) on 5 units. Hobbit dominated the Manapool decliners as release-week supply flooded both venues.
Supply / Velocity Read-Through
The shelf structure flipped from prerelease week. Last week’s tightest Hobbit inventory became this week’s biggest builds. The Bundle went from 100.5 to 271.8 avg listings (+170.33%), Draft Night from 43.4 to 103.6 (+138.38%), the Collector Booster Pack from 138.9 to 244.0 (+75.64%), the Prerelease Pack from 332.0 to 641.9 (+93.34%). Everything that was draining pre-release absorbed a supply wave post-release.
The Collector Booster Display didn’t follow the pattern. Its supply kept falling – avg qty 138.9 -> 92.4, down another 33.44% – even though sellers grew 58%. Demand is consuming inventory faster than the new sellers can fill it. At $810.63 and a 6.43 sell-through, this is the product that best answers last week’s question about whether The Hobbit’s demand was real or just prerelease scarcity. Six times its shelf with 42 sellers behind it. The demand looks real.
Reality Fracture Play Booster Display and Reality Fracture Collector Booster Display appeared as anomalies for the first time. Both are draining preorder supply ahead of the October 2 release – the Play Booster at a 1.3069 sell-through with supply -25.78%, the Collector at 1.0562 with supply -37.38%. Combined revenue was $64,555. Early preorder positioning, six weeks out.
Edge of Eternities Commander Decks Set of 2 kept draining: avg qty 93.4 -> 73.9 (-20.89%), price flat at $74.89 -> $75.14 (+0.35%), sell-through 0.2706. Meanwhile the rest of Edge of Eternities bounced – the Play Booster surged +44.47% (116.5 -> 168.3). This product has been coming off shelves for five straight weeks while everything in its set reversed. The price isn’t running, which usually means the demand is patient – someone is steadily buying this off shelves without chasing the ask.
The Marvel Super Heroes Collector Booster Display drain covered in the gainers section is the supply story to watch outside of Hobbit – the premium tier keeps shrinking while standard supply stays flush.
Marvel Super Heroes Jumpstart Booster Display showed a possible turn. Supply ticked down 573.0 -> 542.3 (-5.36%) for the first time in the restock streak, though sellers kept growing (+7.44%) and the price kept falling (-3.78% to $114.68). The second wave of Marvel restock might be tapering. Last week’s watch item on Star Trek flattened: Play Booster supply +4.97% but sellers left (-13.34%), Collector Booster supply -6.16%, no anomaly flags. The preorder book neither built nor broke.

Tightest inventory on TCGPlayer is all Hobbit despite the supply flood: The Hobbit Collector Booster Display (sell-through 6.4255 at avg qty 92.4, supply still falling), The Hobbit Play Booster Display (3.8360 at 317.0), The Hobbit Collector Booster Pack (2.2094 at 244.0), The Hobbit Scene Box Treasures of Smaug (2.0982 at 112.5), The Hobbit Draft Night (1.5644 at 103.6), The Hobbit Scene Box Crack the Plates (1.5554 at 187.1), The Hobbit Prerelease Pack (1.4488 at 641.9), The Hobbit Gift Bundle (1.3148 at 27.4). Outside the set, Reality Fracture Play Booster Display (1.3069 at 122.4) and Reality Fracture Collector Booster Display (1.0562 at 88.0) are both draining preorder supply, followed by Bloomburrow Commander Deck Animated Army (0.9136 at 74.4) and Tarkir Dragonstorm Commander Deck Temur Roar (0.6414 at 48.3).
Heaviest inventory on TCGPlayer: Marvel Super Heroes Play Booster Display (avg qty 1,059.7, up 16.34%, sell-through 0.1397) broke 1,000 units on shelf for the first time. Behind it, Marvel Super Heroes Prerelease Pack (856.4), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Prerelease Pack (718.2), Marvel Super Heroes Bundle (651.8), Marvel Super Heroes Jumpstart Booster Display (542.3, down from 573.0 – the first dip in the restock streak), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Play Booster Display (513.6), Marvels Spider Man Play Booster Display (493.3), Avatar The Last Airbender Play Booster Display (487.2).
Coverage ran 100.0% across 551 located sellers. Washington reclaimed the top spot at 9.7% of located supply (10,011 units) after losing it to California a week ago. California came in second at 8.8% (9,072), New York 6.1% (6,355), Florida 5.9% (6,095), Oregon 5.7% (5,931), Arizona 5.2% (5,376), Texas 4.8% (4,930), Ohio 4.5% (4,699), Idaho 4.0% (4,166). Top cities: Seattle 6,464, Quebec 3,283, Tucson 3,006, Bayamon 2,905, Kindred ND 2,790.
Several Hobbit products carry probable_restock_signal flags: Prerelease Pack, Collector Booster Pack, Draft Night, Bundle. That’s expected – release day is a restock event by definition. Supply figures on flagged products may overstate organic shelf size.
Opinionated Takeaways
The Premium Held Release Week
I asked whether $853.50 on the Collector Booster Display would survive the open market. It gave back 5% to $811 and still cleared six times its shelf. That’s the best answer the set could have given. The whole Hobbit lineup repriced lower as sellers piled in, and the market absorbed it without flinching.
Crack the Plates Is $7 From MSRP
Three weeks of double-digit declines and the margin is almost gone. When the undercutting runs out of room, sellers will leave, and we’ll see how much organic demand is underneath the crowd. The real test is what happens when they can’t fall any further.
The Marvel Collector Booster Box Is On a Clock
The premium tier is a finite pool being consumed while the standard tiers stay flush. At the current drain rate, the shelf has a few weeks left. When it gets thin enough, the price will stop climbing gradually and start jumping.
Edge of Eternities Commander Set of 2 Earned Its Story
Five weeks in, the rest of the set bounced, and this product didn’t. The price hasn’t moved in any of it – $75 now, $75 five weeks ago. Someone is buying this steadily enough to hollow out the shelf without chasing the ask. I don’t know who or why, but it’s no longer background noise.
What To Watch Next Week
Hobbit week two of open-market pricing. This week established a post-release floor. The question now is whether the floor holds when the full seller pool has had a complete cycle to list, or whether competition keeps pushing prices down. The Gift Bundle (Sep 4 release, $249.52, 27-unit shelf) is the next supply shock to watch.
Reality Fracture preorder trajectory. Both displays drained preorder supply above 1x sell-through in their first week as anomalies. The October 2 release is six weeks out. Whether the book keeps building or stabilizes tells us how the market is weighting the next in-universe set.
Marvel Collector Booster Box remaining supply. The drain rate above makes the math simple. Watch for the inflection where remaining supply gets thin enough to accelerate the price.

Calculation Notes & Disclaimers
- Metrics are based on MTGsold internal sales/listing snapshots for the report window only.
avg qty= average of daily inventory (most complete scrape per day, by seller coverage), not a sum of all intraday listings.sell-through=units sold this week / avg qty this week; values above 1 indicate inventory turned over multiple times.- Percentage changes are week-over-week versus the prior-week baseline; very small baselines can exaggerate % moves.
- Listings are marketplace snapshots and may include relists, temporary removals, and scrape gaps, so flagged low-confidence moves should be treated cautiously.
- Marketplace sections are segmented to avoid cross-stream blending of metrics.
